Our Birth Plan

Admiring these last few days or weeks until our daughters arrival.

Today, with the anticipation of our daughters birth, I thought I would share our birth plan. I hope this post helps other first time mothers figure out what they want in a birth plan, or to just see what we have decided to choose. I can’t wait to see how our birth plan turns out. After her birth, stay tuned for “Our birth plan: what really went down”. You will find our birth plan towards the bottom of this post. I have fuzzed out our little girls name, as we are keeping it a secret until she is born!!!

My husband & I had a ton of fun with this project, lots of laughter while leaving us with lasting memories which we will cherish forever.

37 Weeks Pegnant

Developing our birth plan took a lot of research, communication between us, figuring out what works for us, lots of questions for our doctor, and discussing other options if during the birth something doesn’t go as planned during delivery. I think we finally have a finalized rough draft. Why do I say finalized rough draft? We know that not everything goes as planned & that we will need to go with the flow. It’s a relief to know that we have something to start with and if it ever has to switch gears, we have discussed it already and it will not take place during delivery. I will say that we are very lucky to have an amazing doctor and a hospital that fully supports and encourages birthing plans.

We hope that this birth plan possibly helps you & your partner!
Admire the life which is growing inside of you, it is such a blessing that some never will be able to experience.

  1. Thanks for sharing your birth plan. I’ve already written my birth plan (due exactly a week after you!), but this would have been really helpful while I was writing it, so I’m sure others will find it helpful :)

  2. Sounds like you have it all covered. Here, we had 48 hrs. to stay in the hospital. With Hannah, that was a rough one, because she was born at night, like 8:42, and by the time we actually were able to leave, we did not get home until around midnight. I was a MESS! Tired and a bit of post-partum probably, but I was so NOT ready to go home at that time. Not sure what your hospital plans are for dismissal, but I thought I would throw it out there for you. Hugs, love, and prayers for a safe birthing process and healthy little one very soon! Good luck little mamma!

    • They technically don’t consider my first day until she is born. So we can decide when we want to check out. They will allow us to stay 3, however, I am thinking of trying to go home in the afternoon.

I agree after giving birth, trying to leave a hospital at close to midnight wouldn’t be good!

  3. I’m due on the 12th February :-) congratulations.

With my first daughter she arrived at 33+1 and my birth plan completely went out the window – as do pretty much everyone’s.

Despite this I’ve made a birth plan this time round… I wonder how much will be followed.

  4. I leave a response whenever I appreciate a article on a blog or if I have something to contribute to the discussion.
It’s triggered by the sincerness communicated in the article I read. And on this article Our Birth Plan | admiring life. I was actually moved enough to leave a commenta response ;) I actually do have 2 questions for you if you tend not to mind. Is it simply me or do a few of these responses look as if they are left by brain dead individuals? :-P And, if you are writing at additional online sites, I’d like to follow everything fresh you have to post.
